I enjoyed it and would recommend this dark romance for anyone that loves a dominant hero and domestic discipline. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was how it began. The beginning felt kinda choppy and there were things missing about how the hero found his runaway by proxy wife (you read this part in the sample). But if you can get past the beginning it really does get better and delivers. Hero makes it clear his taking heroine and any insubordination from the feisty heroine is met with sound spanking. He waits to claim her, for a reason you have to read, but once he claims her the man goes crazy obsessive with her. He loves that he can make her respond to him. These are the type heroes I love by the author. They just fall into this possessive, obsession that is very painful for the heroine, if you get my drift. Some may find it hard to read, but that is what I expect and enjoy reading from Ms. Faulkner's romances. It is a safe read. Hero is loyal. Hero is heroine's one and only. Hero eventually mellows, enough, to realize he loves heroine for more than her body. Heroine gets a straight talking from her aunt and makes her see her actions in a different light. In the end I was left very satisfied with the ending.Product details

THe collonies wasn't nearly far enough for this girl to run to escape an arranged marriage by her father because her fiance finds her and boy his he not happy. Some very hot spanking scenes and a good plot to go along with it.
Partial rating because characters were not fully developed. Despite that it was an entertaining read. The book was too sexually graphic to recommend.
First of all, there is a good chuck of grammer errors which got a little distracting, like when heroine's name was spelled Hannah and Hanna. Then, following some of the scenes didn't make any sense like when Wolf magically appeared at Hannah's door and started talking. The pick up of the story took forever to get going.
SOME SPOILERS!!! I didn't mind that Wolf is a little rough but the fact that Hannah just gave up and fell in love with him when her Aunt said she deserved all her punishments. It got a little annoying that all of a sudden there was like non-stop sex when they were on the boat and that was it. There could have been a little more.... fun with the spanking scene. It just didn't last long enough.
I really like this author, especially like Spoils Of War and Kept but this book wasn't as good as it could have been.
This book reads as though it is just random plot musings thrown together. No conversation. No character development. No historical context. No nothing. I've read other books by this author and she can write a good sex scene, but this book is not sexy. It's a mess. Please save your money.
I was slightly disappointed with this book.... Hannah runs away from an abusive father and ends up with an abusive husband.... Though I believe wolfgang loves Hannah in his own way, he goes about showing it in a very rough way. Hannah seems to be very strong at first, but then just basically gives up. I wish there was more build up in this story and not just sex and spanking.
Good storyline, couldn't stop reading after starting it, wished it was longer to see what happens next!
What a fabulous short start-up was fast pace and full of sexual tension. The Revolutionary time period is great for a setting about one stubborn woman and one powerful man-made both surrender to love.
